Just a stone's throw away from Melrose, situated beneath the towering Eildon Hills in the Scottish Borders, Roulotte Retreat beckons, offering you the ultimate escape.
Avril and Alan are the creative minds behind Roulotte Retreat, who embody the spirit of true adventurers. With a profound love for travel and an unwavering zest for life, they invite you to experience their unique retreat.
Take your pick from two dog-friendly self-catering options:
Rosa Bella
Step into the enchanting world of Rosa Bella, a spacious Dutch Roulotte (or in Dutch, woonwagen) adorned with deep jewel colours of lapis lazuli, turquoise, ruby, garnet and gold. With room for two or four guests, Rosa Bella boasts a double bedroom and a romantic double alcove bed enveloped in colourful drapes. Unwind in the quirky salon, featuring lingerie lace curtains, oriental rugs and whimsical lamps casting a magical glow. The kitchen area, complete with a Baby Belling oven, invites you to dine in or enjoy al fresco meals on the deck. Luxurious original-style roulotte beds ensure a restful sleep, while a wetroom with shower, toilet and washbasin offers convenience just steps away.
Horseshoe Cottage
Immerse yourself in the comforts of Horseshoe Cottage, nestled amidst the woodland garden. Delight in the serenity and magic of this tranquil space, offering a sense of timeless charm. Situated among a family of Scots Pine trees, with views over the meadow towards the Eildon Hills, Horseshoe Cottage provides a private sanctuary with its own woodland garden and parking. Families are warmly welcomed to Horseshoe Cottage, where children can embrace the wonders of nature. There is a wood fired eco sauna available to use as well.
In harmony with the natural surroundings, Roulotte Retreat has enhanced the beauty of the local landscape by planting native trees, shrubs and wildflowers, creating and rewilding a nurturing environment where guests and wildlife coexist harmoniously.
Ideal for dog walking, St Cuthbert's Way and Eildon Hills are within walking distance from the site, Southern Upland Way, Borders Abbeys Way and by the River Tweed also near to the site. We can also recommend good places to eat that accept dogs.
