The Chestnuts in Tharston offers fabulous self catering and B&B accommodation in a picturesque country setting. Based near Long Stratton in a tranquil part of Norfolk, we are ideal for a rural country escape.

The Garden Lodge: Our gorgeous Scandinavian-style lodge is perfect for a secluded stay in a scenic countryside setting. The lodge is a great space for a family or group looking to get away for a long weekend or a relaxing holiday. This ground-level lodge has a cosy sitting room, a well-equipped kitchen, a dining room that can seat 6 as well as a utility/ boot room with a washing machine, dishwasher and freezer, making your stay with us a home from home experience.

Three bedrooms are available: the master room with a king size bed, a single room and a bunk room. An additional shower room is also available. Outside there is seating for al fresco dining as well as a secure garden for children & pets - although we welcome guests to explore the rest of the garden and enjoy the space if they like. We have a trampoline for our youngers guests and are able to provide a high chair and cot if needed. We also have a field at the back of the garden where guests can take their pets for a longer walk or run during their stay.

Rooms: We also offer B&B accommodation in a purpose-built annex right next to our 19th Century family cottage. The rooms are accessed via a flight of stairs and include a super king and twin room. Both rooms share a kitchenette which includes a fridge, sink & microwave. The rooms each have a kettle, toaster & coffee machine, and a continental self-served breakfast is also provided.

We are in a fantastic location for discovering all that the local area has to offer. Only 10 miles away is the historic city of Norwich, renowned for its majestic cathedral and one of the oldest outdoor markets in the UK. The city has lots of shops for some much-needed retail therapy, whilst an abundance of restaurants and bars can be enjoyed as well. Only a short drive from us is Dunston Hall which has a golf course and spa. The area also has lots of walking and cycling routes, as well as being around an hour from the Norfolk/Suffolk coast.
