Courtyard Cottages offers stunning self catering accommodation in Wigtown, Dumfries & Galloway. Our cottages boast breathtaking views of Wigtown Bay Nature Reserve and are surrounded by spectacular beaches, forest parks and gardens. We are the perfect base to explore a range of attractions in the local area. Wigtown is Scotland's National Book Town and is home to the annual Wigtown Book Festival.

We have five charming cottages available. All the cottages are beautifully furnished and come with everything you need for a relaxing stay: Stable sleeps up to 4 and Granary up to 4. The Garden and Barn Cottages sleep 2/3 and the Rose Cottage sleeps up to 6 people. The cottages surround a large courtyard. Barn Cottage has its own entrance off the courtyard. There is an outdoor play area with swings for young children and a games barn for rainy days.

All the cottages come with a wood-burning stove, fully equipped kitchen, TV/DVD player, comfortable bedrooms and modern bathrooms.

There are ample parking facilities. For walkers, cyclists and wildfowlers a properly equipped drying room is available, plus bike storage facilities. We have a heated covered swimming pool in the grounds, a separate laundry room and chest freezer is available. We do supply all linen and towels free of charge. Broadband access is available in the courtyard.

Often referred to as 'Scotland's Hidden Secret', Dumfries and Galloway offer splendid scenery, quiet roads, friendly people and plenty to see and do. Below are just some of the attractions of this southwestern corner of Scotland.

Wildlife reserves and animal sanctuaries throughout. Wigtown Local Nature Reserve opposite the cottages is the largest in Britain with wetland area and bird hide.

Fishing is now becoming very popular in Galloway for the discerning angler - salmon, coarse and sea fishing available .

Walking - The Machars or Forest Park. The Southern Upland Way crosses Galloway.

Cycling - from the quiet roads of the Machars to new 'world-class' mountain biking trails in the Galloway Forest Park.
