Tucked between the Little Dart and the National Trust’s Buzzards Woods, Buzzards House & Spring Cottage offer a peaceful retreat where you can unwind and relax. Surrounded by nature, vibrant birdsong, lush gardens and orchards, it’s also a haven for children to explore and enjoy.

Buzzards House is a spacious, welcoming retreat designed for comfort and relaxation. Enter through the boot room, perfect for coats, boots and dog beds, before stepping into the oak-floored hub of the house. This central space features a wood-burning stove, comfy sofas, a dining table and a Welsh dresser. The adjacent kitchen is fully equipped with two ovens, a gas hob, microwave, coffee machine and large fridge freezer, with extra appliances in the utility room.

The house offers five double bedrooms with luxurious Soak and Sleep linens, most overlooking the garden. Upstairs, there are three bathrooms, including one with a roll-top tub and two with walk-in showers. French windows lead to a south-facing veranda, ideal for barbeques, sundowners and relaxing while overlooking the beautiful garden. Outdoor amenities include a hot tub, fire pit, croquet, ping pong, badminton and a football net.

The garden extends into a wild orchard with picnic tables, a fire pit and a little bridge crossing the Little Dart River, perfect for kids to explore, play and build dams. A woodland path leads to nearby Worthy Bridge and Huntland Wood. Surrounded by scenic trails and orchards bursting with blossom or fruit, Buzzards House is a haven for families, dogs, and nature lovers alike.

Buzzards House sleeps ten people and Spring Cottage sleeps 2, so if they are both booked together we can accommodate up to 12 guests.

There is plenty to see and do in the area, Buzzards Wood (National Trust) is only a five minute walk from our self catering properties and a great place to walk your dog. Knightshayes offers lovely gentle walks for dogs, followed by a delicious meal at the Lost Kitchen, be sure to book ahead. Killerton House and its grounds are perfect for more energetic dog walks and the nearby canal provides a scenic spot for a leisurely stroll with your four-legged friend.
