Wolf Meadows Farm is owned by an ecologist couple dedicated to preserving and enhancing the rich wildlife that thrives on their land. Their primary goal is nature conservation, with grazing livestock playing a crucial role. The farm is managed organically, without artificial pesticides, fertilizers, or chemicals and is home to a herd of rare and endangered cattle. Situated within a private stretch of the idyllic Taw River in a picturesque North Devon valley, the farm offers a haven for wildlife.
The farm features traditionally managed, flower-rich meadows bordered by dense, berry-filled hedgerows and ancient woodland. These meadows are also home to a flock of laying hens and their guardian cockerel, providing delicious organic eggs.
Guests can choose from various camping experiences: by the riverbank, where they can listen to the trickling water and occasionally spot an otter; in the meadows, where they can observe resident pheasants and squirrels and enjoy the morning chorus; or in the woodlands, where two baby deer graze. The farm also offers eco-friendly amenities, including an eco toilet and hot/cold eco shower.
There are also five glamping pods available, designed as Viking Sleeping Barrels, each accommodating up to four adults with two double bedrooms. Bedding is provided and each pod features an outdoor BBQ, cooking area and picnic bench for your convenience.
As a fully operational mixed agricultural farm, we welcome the public to experience the natural beauty of North Devon. With livestock breeding and new calves born regularly, visitors might witness a newborn arrival. Additionally, guests can participate in animal feeding experiences and see some of the newborn calves up close.
Be inspired by nature, reconnect, find happiness, sleep deeply, and fall in love all over again. Turn off your phone and embrace the tranquility. Rise with the sun, marvel at the dawn chorus, awaken your senses, and feel rejuvenated to reflect, muse, and wonder. At dusk, watch bats soar overhead and listen to owls calling across the river, which is home to salmon, warblers, curlews, egrets, otters, geese, ducks, and swans. This is responsible and sustainable farming and tourism at its finest, with limited guests to ensure no overcrowding.
There is so much to see and do in the area, including:
Okehampton Castle.
Cobbaton Combat Collection.
Go Ape! Haldon.
