Den by the Stream is a charming wooden cabin situated by a tranquil stream, surrounded by lush woodland and nature. This hand-built, dog-friendly retreat is the sole cabin on our expansive 3-acre property. Located a short distance from the coast and the historic town of Cardigan, the Den offers a serene escape.

Situated in a meadow corner, the Den features large windows on all sides, allowing natural light to flood in and offering stunning views of the surrounding nature. The open-plan cabin feels spacious, with a cosy two-seater sofa and chair by the wood burner, perfect for chilly evenings.

The small kitchen corner is equipped with pots, pans, plates and a gas camping stove for quick tea or espresso. An oak table and chairs by the large window provide a dining spot to watch birds at the feeder, while a hand-built table and teak chairs on the verandah offer outdoor dining options.

The highlight of the cabin is the handcrafted four-poster bed, made from local woodland trees and adorned with tiny lights. The bed offers a view of the mature trees, creating a magical atmosphere. The attached bathroom, accessible through a rustic barn door, ensures you don't need to step outside at night.

Studies show that green spaces, trees, and water boost wellbeing, and the Den's location embodies this. Designed for simplicity and comfort, it's a place to relax, disconnect, and recharge. There's no Wi-Fi, TV, radio, or fridge, but you'll find everything you need for a comfortable stay, including bottled tap water, towels, linen, wood for the fire, soft blankets, board games and books. A solar panel provides enough power for lighting and device charging.

The Den is fully insulated, making it cosy in winter with the wood burner. On sunny days, natural warmth suffices. The compost toilet and rainwater-fed shower are eco-friendly. During colder months, a downstairs shower in our house is available upon arrangement.

Enjoy alfresco dining by the fire pit or on the verandah using the COBB BBQ cooker. Inside, a camping stove is handy for quick meals. If you prefer dining out, there are excellent cafes, bistro pubs and restaurants nearby.

The cabin's private stream, surrounded by trees and lush vegetation, provides a peaceful spot to relax on handmade benches. If your dogs need exercise, our 3.5-acre meadow with cut tracks and stock fencing allows them to roam freely while you enjoy a walk.

Explore the dog-friendly town of Cardigan on the Teifi estuary or take a boat trip to see dolphins in Cardigan Bay. Enjoy lunch in a seaside pub after exploring rocky coves and beaches, or hike along the stunning Wales Coastal Path that runs through Cardigan.
