Brathay Lodge, Ambleside, is a traditional English Lake District B & B which was originally built as two semi detached properties around 1890 probably to satisfy the demand for guest, B&B, hotel and Pet Friendly accommodation by the Lake District tourist industry which was then in its infancy. The property is of a contemporary style B & B. The brief to the interior design team was to create an informal atmosphere conducive to unwinding with high class guest accommodation to a high quality hotel / B & B standard.
We, like most guests, believe that this is what has been created - a very different bed and breakfast, an extremely pleasant warm and friendly place where you can enjoy banter with the family and staff or have peace and quiet - whatever you require.

Ravenshill was built in 1874 as the home of the Factor of the Estate of Lockerbie. There is a large garden with lawns, mature trees and a private car park. It has been converted to a hotel retaining many of the traditional features but with all modern comforts.
