Adjoining the park is the village of Penybont. A village steeped in history. A Main droving route, and the site of one of the largest fairs in the early 19th Century.
The site overlooks Penybont Race Course, which plays host to Penybont Races on the first Wednesday in August. This is one of the oldest trotting races in Wales and well worth attending. Llandrindod Trotting Races has also moved to the racecourse and this is held on August bank holiday.

Lyvennet Cottages are situated in and around the small farming village of Kings Meaburn, 10 miles south of Penrith, in the beautiful Eden Valley, on the outskirts of the English Lake District.
Lyvennet Cottages are run by the Addison family. With many years of experience in the holiday cottage business, our aim is to make your holiday as enjoyable as possible. The family run a mixed farm with sheep, suckler cows and a small dairy herd on over 300 acres, 40 of which is woodland with some magnificent mature oak woods.

The cottage is a 300 year old thatched cottage that was apparently used by HM Customs and Excise many years ago as a look-out for smugglers!
The sleeping accommodation is 2 bedrooms, of which you have to walk through the first bedroom with a double bed into the further bedroom with two single beds. All bed linen is provided, along with bath and hand towels.
The mattress on the double is quite new and is a memory foam quality mattress to ensure a good nights sleep. There is no bath but a large walk in shower with the option to detatch the shower head for ease, especially with small children. This is on the ground floor.
