Details

Coldingham Loch is a natural spring-fed 22-acre loch in the Scottish Borders which offers superb fly fishing and holiday accommodation in a stunning coastal location.

The loch is one of Scotland's oldest established fisheries and has a well-earned reputation for providing top quality fly fishing for brown, blue and rainbow trout from bank or boat. We also offer a range of self-catering holiday accommodation for those who want to stay and enjoy all that this beautiful part of the Scottish Borders has to offer. An additional benefit of taking your Scottish fishing holiday here is that we do not have the biting midges.

Lochside Cottage - Sleeps 3/4 in two bedrooms. This unique Victorian boathouse sits over the loch and comes with its own boat moored underneath. In a beautiful spot across the loch from the Fishermen's Lodge this cottage offers a truly special place to stay and experience the tranquillity of the loch. It can be accessed by car along a track around the loch and by boat across the loch.

The Lodge - Sleeps 6 in three bedrooms. This lovely old cottage would have been the Gatehouse/lodge to the old estate. This whitewashed traditional cottage stands at the entrance to the site in the same area as the chalets. It has a light and airy feel with an open fire and fully double glazed offering warm and comfortable accommodation that is popular amongst the regular holiday guests.

Hawthorn Chalet - Sleeps 3 in two bedrooms. It is especially suited for couples or two adults as it is the smallest of the chalets. It is private and tucked away in a quiet sunny corner and is cosy and warm in the cooler months.

Sunnyside Chalet - Sleeps 4 in two bedrooms. It is tucked away in a quiet corner of the site near to Hawthorn and has its own fenced off garden area and parking.

Elm Chalet - Sleeps 4 in two bedrooms. Elm Chalet is situated to the right of the entrance drive and enjoys a lawned area in front with plenty of sunshine through the day and evening. It is the biggest of the chalets and is fully insulated and very warm and cosy and for the summer months, there is an outside decking area for eating out and enjoying watching the wildlife and the world go by.

Coldingham Loch is a natural spring-fed 22 acre Loch uniquely positioned in close proximity to the magnificent cliffs of the Berwickshire coast. As the only Eutrophic (naturally nutrient-rich) Loch in the Scottish Borders, it offers the discerning angler the opportunity to fish for its hard fighting, fast-growing, free rising trout.

It is one of the countries oldest established Trout fisheries and has a reputation for providing top quality fly fishing from both boat or bank. Fully finned Blue and Rainbow Trout averaging more than 2lbs and our own strain Browns from 1lb are taken regularly on dries and small nymphs from May onwards. Traditional Loch style methods work well all year and the evening fishing in July and August can produce the most fantastic rises of fish. Buzzer fishing in April and early May produce some fine over-wintered fish to 6lbs every year and there is always the chance of that fish of a lifetime at any time of year
