Buck Inn in Thornton Watlass, Ripon in North Yorkshire, offers a wonderful experience in a beautiful location. Overlooking the village green, our charming inn is the ideal pet friendly country retreat for those seeking to get away from the busy pace of modern life. The village lies at the entrance of Wensleydale in North Yorkshire; the gateway to the stunning Yorkshire Dales National Park. We have a total of five bedrooms; three of which are super king/twin en suite guest rooms and one of which is a single en suite. There is also an en suite family room which sleeps four and a cot if required. The family guest room is at ground floor level and suitable for people with mobility problems. All rooms have been refurbished to a high standard within the last 3 years.

All guest rooms at the inn benefit from an attractive outlook over the beer garden or village green, where you can watch cricket during Summer months and spot cows grazing the outfield!

Having spent a long day taking in the local attractions, you can unwind in a choice of cosy rooms in the bar, by our open fire or wood burner. Our bar offers an extensive wine list to suit all tastes, a selection of well kept real ales including the locally brewed "Black Sheep" and “Theakstons Best” as well as a range of guest ales from independent brewers in Yorkshire and County Durham.

We serve a wide choice of tasty, home cooked food every lunch and dinner, with traditional roasts available every Sunday.

There are scores of places in the local area that are worth visiting, and we are more than happy to help you to plan a day out, give you directions and recommendations. We can even make you a picnic lunch. Furthermore there is a guide to the attractions in the local area provided in each room.
