Tigh Alasdair is a beautiful self catering cottage is surrounded by moorland, sheep and water all at once. The little bungalow on the family croft enjoys unhindered views of Locheport, the hills of Bureaval, Eaval and Lees not to mention spectacular sunsets. The bungalow was built in 1995 replacing the old family home. It offers all modern comforts in a traditional island setting, situated between the south shore of Loch Euphort (seawater) and Loch an Ghoil (freshwater).

Open peat fire (peat, kindlers, firelighters and paper for the open fire are provided, free of charge).

All the modern conveniences that you could want.

2 bedrooms: one double room (see picture) and one twin/ double room.

The one twin/ double room has a bunk bed: a single upper bed and a 3/4 size double bed below.

Bath with electric shower over the bath.

Walking is probably the most popular. Although mainly flat, the terrain of North Uist is deceiving with a good variety of hill, coastal, moor & hill walks. On the east side, there is almost as much water as land! Take the opportunity to ascend the Lees above Lochmaddy and look down on the stunning lace-work of lochans and moor – there is nowhere else like it in the UK! On the west side the beautiful white sand beaches stretch for miles and meet the moors at The Machair – a fertile area, often traditionally farmed and with a unique ecosystem and a profusion of wild-flowers in spring and summer.

Wherever you go you will be infused with the peace and tranquillity of this unspoilt place.
