Maggs Howe bed and breakfast is a former working farm and is surrounded by land that is stil farmed by the family. Detached with a large garden and plenty of private parking space, Maggs Howe is a on a hillside with a wonderful view of the Kentmere Valley. Maggs Howe has 3 bedrooms available and there is also a camping barn which sleeps up to 12 people.
Our house is a family home with a separate lounge and dining room for our guests. We have 3 bedrooms available one ensuite, 2 sharing a toilet and shower.
Full English Breakfast is served, with tea, coffee and toast, and we offer a variety of cereals, juices and fruit.
The bed and breakfast is open all year round and we welcome visitors for afternoon teas, lunches and light snacks including soup, sandwiches and homemade cakes. Evening meals and sunday lunches are also available by prior arrangement.
We are 4 miles from Staveley where there are shops, pubs and restaurants as well as bus and rail services. We are not licensed but please feel free to bring your own, to enjoy with your meals.
Vegetarian and other diets are catered for with prior notice.
Near to the Kendal, a bustling market town and Lake Windemere, the Kentmere Valley is ideally located for walkers and visitors wanting to explore the beautiful, unspolit lanes, fileds and woods, as well as the great peaks of the fells. Read more about the location and things to do.
