The properties are located in stunning countryside and are ideally situated for exploring an area steeped in history and rich in natural beauty. Routed trails and footpaths wind through the estate grounds, which are a haven to an abundance of wildlife and the perfect country for walkers.

Sporting Activities:

There are opportunities to try fishing on private sections of The River Lune, renowned for its sea trout in the summer and salmon in September and October and an 18 hole golf course forms part of the estate. We believe that if you book one of our cottages that we have for rent in The Lake District you will be delighted with the perfect position and superb facilities. You can stay in Underley Grange for sporting parties of up to 16 Guests. As guests of the Holiday Cottages, the cottage that you rent in the Lake District will be able to cater for all your needs.

Tourism and Location:

For those wishing to explore further a field, Windermere and the Lake District are just 20 miles away with attractions ranging from the world renowned Beatrix Potter exhibition to steamers and vintage boat cruises on the largest lake in England, there is something there for everyone.

The City of Lancaster, the County Town of Lancashire, is 15 miles away with excellent pubs and restaurants in the villages as you drive there. The city dates back to Roman times and has a legacy of predominately Georgian buildings. The castle was built in 1093 and was added to in medieval times, becoming a Crown Court and prison in the 18th century - a role it still fulfils today. There are museums and the Ashton Memorial, together with supermarkets and a full range of shopping in the City center.

Kendal is some 10 miles away, known as the Gateway to The Lakes and boasting several museums, castle ruins and a pleasant town center with a pedestrianised shopping area.
