Woodend is situated off the beaten track in an accessible but remote location high on Birker Fell, just a short walk from Devoke Water and set within a relatively quiet and unspoilt area of the Lake District National Park with fantastic views towards Scafell Pike.

This self catering accommodation is situated 3 miles from both the Eskdale Valley and the Duddon Valley and conveniently located for Ulpha, Eskdale, Boot, Seathwaite and Broughton-in-Furness. A short drive from the more populated areas of Coniston, Windermere and Ambleside, these unique self-contained holiday properties are full of character and charm.

Set within, though not part of, a working farm, we are pet-friendly and all properties have multi-fuel “log-burning” stoves, enclosed gardens, Wi-Fi and Sky HD TV.

Woodend is located quite high on Birker Fell and approached from the fell along a single track road through a gate. It has fantastic views across the fell towards Scafell Pike, (England's highest mountain), and is a ten minute walk from one of the smaller of the lakes, Devoke Water, which never the less is nearly a mile long.

At Woodend you not only have incredible views towards Scafell Pike from most of the rooms, but within a five minute walk you have stunning views over Devoke Water towards the coast. Within twenty minutes walking you can be at the top of Devoke Seat where, on a clear day, you have a 360 degree panoramic view that includes Devoke Water, the Langdales, the coast and the Isle of Man. We are situated 3 miles from both the Eskdale Valley and the Duddon Valley and conveniently situated for Ulpha, Seathwaite, Broughton-in-Furness and Boot

At Woodend Self Catering Holiday Cottages and Bed and Breakfast, B&B, we pride ourselves in combining comfortable and cosy accommodation for two people or more within a quiet relaxing environment. Whether you enjoy walking, fishing, cycling, climbing, sightseeing by car or just want to close the gate after you and not return to civilisation until it suits you, this is the perfect centre for all.
