Crossfield is an ancient farm set in the spectacularly beautiful Eden Valley on the edge of the Lake District. Close by the hamlet of Staffield, the cottages and fishing lakes nestle in total privacy overlooking the Croglin water.

We are surrounded on all sides by fields, lakes and woods. The nearest public road is 1/2 mile away. The Farmstead itself, built of soft red sandstone, stands at the end of our private drive and the Fisherman's Walk cottages are literally within casting distance of the main fishing lake.

The Barley Mow: Stone external granny steps lead to this first-floor self catering cottage. All five rooms have clear uninterrupted views across the beautiful Eden Valley countryside. South facing tall Georgian windows open onto an attractive comfortable lounge, with its magnificent sandstone and oak fireplace. There is a TV with Freeview. The kitchen/diner is well equipped.

There are two bedrooms, one with a double pine bed (and room for cot), the other with three pine single beds. Both have fitted wardrobes & bedside tables. The bathroom with airing cupboard has a full modern damask suite, heated towel rail, shaver light/point and hot air blower.

Fisherman's Walk: Four delightful self catering cottages overlooking the lower lake. Each has a spacious open plan lounge with well-equipped kitchen (see general description) and a breakfast bar.

An ebony-stained staircase leads to a landing connecting the bathroom and bedroom. The bathroom with airing cupboard has a full modern blue suite, heated towel rail, shaver light/point and hot air blower. The bedroom is cosy but roomy, with a double or twin pine beds, fitted wardrobe, bedside tables and drawers. Large French windows open onto a full-length balcony sheltered by the roof overhang.

Farmlands, fells and distant farmsteads form memorable views, while close at hand fisherman

quietly play for elusive fish clearly seen from the balcony above.
