Pen y Cae Cottage, New Quay, Ceredigion

Pen y Cae is a lovely 4 star graded property that sleeps up to 12 people in very spacious accomodation. The cottage, an old farm barn conversion, includes five bedrooms and three bathrooms and is mainly on one level, set in very large peaceful grounds. Ideally located just one mile outside the seaside town of New Quay and a 10 minute walk to the Cardigan Bay coastal path. Also only a pleasant 10 minute walk to the local pub (Penrhiwllan Inn) at the end of the lane which serves a large selection of great food and drink.

There is a huge Kitchen/diner with high vaulted ceiling and original welsh slate slab floor. The kitchen includes an oil fired Rayburn cooker/boiler that provides hot water and central heating (oil included), additional gas cooker and dishwasher. The dining area includes an old farmhouse table that seats 8. A highchair is also provided.

There is a utility room off the kitchen/diner with fridge/freezer, washing machine, tumble dryer (pound coin operated) and microwave. Also provided are all the required pots, pans and cooking utensils.

The is a large sitting room with a woodburner stove (logs available for purchase) set in an Inglenook fireplace, T.V with digibox, DVD player, CD/Stereo. This is a dual aspect room with french doors to the back garden and an arched window overlooking part of the front garden. The room features beamed ceilings and a wooden open tread staircase to above double bedroom.

Large family bedroom with double bed and high vaulted ceiling and mezzanine level (steep opentread staircase) with single bed and full size single pull-out bed (not pictured) . This room also has its own ensuite bathroom and dedicated access door to the front of the cottage. A wooden cot is provided if required and a camping cot is also available on request.

New Quay is an old fishing village that springs to life in summer, it becomes a bustling town with plenty to do, it boasts clean safe sandy beaches, watersports, sea fishing trips, wildlife/dolphin viewing boat trips, Coastal path walking or simply sitting and enjoying the sea, sand and views. It is an excellent base from which to tour north, mid and south Wales with their diverse attractions. Beach Fishing in New Quay and nearby Cwmtydu are excellent places for Bass. Trout pools are also close by for the keen anglers.
