Balneden Steading Holiday Cottages, Tomintoul, Ballindalloch, Highlands

Balneden is the ideal location for a self-catering holiday in the Scottish Highlands. Converted in 2009 Balneden Steading offers 3 newly-renovated cottages to rent.

The Mill:
The Mill is the largest of the three cottages and has several unique features. It comprises an open plan lounge set around the stunning 5 metre tall glazed gables, dining and kitchen area and two spacious bedrooms, the larger of which boasts a flat screen TV and leads out onto a private outdoor decking terrace complete with dining facilities.

The private outdoor dining terrace is accessed through the master bedroom and is an ideal space to relax and unwind with a glass of your favourite malt whisky. The terrace is not overlooked and looks out onto working farmland (the only intrusion you might have is a curious cow or inquisitive sheep). Guests have access to washing and drying facilities and a store to keep all sports equipment.

The Cattle Shed:
This cottage is spacious enough for two and comprises of an open plan lounge, kitchen and dining area, a wet room and a large double bedroom.

The Cattle Shed is ideal accommodation for two (and perhaps a baby/toddler, cot bed available) The cottage has its own outdoor seating area which looks out over the River Avon and the Ladder Hills beyond.

A washing machine and tumble dryer are available for use in the communal laundry room.

The Grain Store:
The Grain Store sleeps 4-5 people. It has an open plan lounge / dining room / kitchen - the lounge being perfectly framed by a 5 metre tall glazed gable. The Grain Store has two double bedrooms. The first bedroom has a double bed within, whilst the second bedroom can be set up to suit your parties needs; as a second double bedroom, a twin room or a twin/double bedroom with an additional bed for an extra guest.

Balneden Steading is based on the Glenlivet Estate in the Cairngorms National Park. This part of the Highlands is rich in outdoor activities. There is so much to do here that to try and cover all activities would be impossible. Here, we hope to give a flavour of the area.
